unable to delete/detect uTorrent partfile

on the uTorrent program itself, the torrent status was a grey "stop" icon, showing "checked 0.0%" and it wasnt able to detect the files till my last download percentage.

So, i deleted the torrent before it could finish downloading, but the folder still contained one utorrent partfile. when i tried to delete the whole folder, my com would take forever to detect the files in the folder and lagged alot afterthat. i scanned for malware but to no avail. i believe that the partfile for that torrent was interrupted and removed, hence when my com was trying to track the files in the folder to delete, it could not anymore since the files are no longer present.

anyone have any idea how to remove that partfile?
