DarkCow
theres probably a tutorial for this.but w/e.File>Create Torrent.then select the files you want to transfer. hit create and save as. send the .torrent files to your friends. and start seeding. (under options theres the start seeding button)im not sure but the dht should take care of connects your friends together.
Vectorferret
Or, for that few number of other people, use the built in tracker.
splintax
DHT would be pretty damn slow, since AFAIK µT doesn't bootstrap it with your IP in the .torrent.I'd suggest instead doing what vectorferret suggested: track the torrent using the internal tracker. You can do this by setting the tracker URL to http://ip:port/announce, replacing ip:port with your IP:port. Once you've got the .torrent sent out to your friends, you might want to change the IP to 'localhost'.

Firon
I've found DHT to be pretty fast, only takes a few minutes for the seed to propagate. I tried it out like 2 days ago and it worked fine.
The Mighty Buzzard
Or you could just put your IP:port in the email too and have them add you manual-like.
splintax
there's a great tutorial on thishttp://www.poromenos.org/tutorials/bittorrentNice link, that. I've got to say, I think that it's only really useful if you seed with µTorrent, since most other BT clients don't have an integrated tracker. Also, Firon, that's quite impressive.. I'm surprised that peers would be able to find each other so quickly. Wouldn't requests have to be routed through a lot of other nodes to reach each other..? Firon
Yep, but apparently changes propagate very quickly through DHT.
