chrissykitten
At my old house, our internet was slow but I could download a 700mb torrent file within an hour or so.I have now moved, with faster internet (at least 1mb), but when I download torrents, the speed won't go higher than 5kb download/upload.Even when I plug my laptop directly to the modem using ethernet, it is even slower (which seems odd, no?).I've tried changing my settings by googling my problem, but nothing seems to help.Could it be the connection at my new house? If it helps, I'm using the same modem, just a different internet company (using satellite, the same as my old house's internet). Thanks in advance. Switeck
Satellite is often completely firewalled *AND* heavily throttles/disrupts BitTorrent traffic. They may have recently increased their disruption...
