DreadWingKnight
You answer a lot better than most. For that I salute you. Most of the time we just get "Latest version" or "Newest from repositories," both of which usually mean 1.0.1 (which is older than dirt now).Autoloading from a folder while uTorrent is running relies partly on the underlying filesystem relaying what amounts to a "File has arrived" message long (last I checked). How long after placing the file in the autoload folder are you waiting before you declare it not working? mamruoc
Oki, maybe this is a multiple samba mount/webdav problem?I have a kvm instance with webdav, rw mount of a specific share, which another kvm instance (torrent) also mounts for picking up the upload. Maybe samba is not sending the correct notice to the file system.user@torrent:/mnt/downloads/torrents/new$ ls -ltotal 17-rwxr----- 1 user user 15632 2010-02-08 10:58 XXX.torrentuser@torrent:/mnt/downloads/torrents/new$ dateMon Feb 8 12:38:16 CET 2010I tried to touch, then sync:user@torrent:/mnt/downloads/torrents/new$ ls -ltotal 17-rwxr----- 1 user user 15632 2010-02-08 12:38 XXX.torrentuser@torrent:/mnt/downloads/torrents/new$ dateMon Feb 8 12:41:13 CET 2010Nothing happens... DreadWingKnight
Maybe samba is not sending the correct notice to the file system. This is actually a problem on windows as well. Network shares in general don't work well for autoload folders, regardless of windows vs linux.Have you tried with a local location instead of a samba mount? mamruoc
Test in progress... :-)Oki,creating a local folder for auto-load an a cron job for moving torrents to it solved the problem.Samba mounts seems to be the problem. So, the remaining problem is probably WebUI implemantion feature request? Greg Hazel
Out of curiosity, does the Samba mount have write permissions for the .torrent files?
mamruoc
Yes, full rewrite access, this to make is possible to delete the file after auto-loading and makes it easier for me know that uTorrent has loaded the file. WebUI doesn't have 100% good log out in the interface.
