iertod Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 No matter what upload speed limit I set, unlimited, or a bit lower (as was recommended) etc., or allowing encryption, disabling, forcing, disabling bandwidth management, my download speeds are terrible. I can upload properly, but my download is crap.My port is forwarded properly and firewall is not interfering, I'm sure of that.Any idea what the problem could be? The torrent is well seeded but I download at about 10-20 kb/s.Sometimes the speed goes up (maybe once every minute or 5) then quickly falls again.
LoganNov Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I'm having the same problem here since I downloaded the last versio (2.0).The torrent (for example) have a 50 seeds and 20 peers and the download rate doesn't go up. Only for about 5 seconds then come down again to 5-12kbps.=/
Peale Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I am also having the same problem. Started when I upgraded to 2.0.
bokyone Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Same problem here. Two days ago i've upgraded to utorrent 2.0. Strangely, even though my upload is limited as it was in previous version (no settings were changed) and even though utorrent doesn't exceed that limit (and often is less then the limit with utorrent 2.0), when i measure my upload speed with freemeter (or any other tool for bandwith measuring) it shows that i'm uploading with almost the maximum upload speed. I repeat, utorrent doesn't exceed the imposed limit (at least is not showing that it does) but it seems otherwise when i measur true upload speed. You can calculate the same thing by using information in local area connection status (activity, sent). Because of that i have problems not only with downloading but with browsing the internet. As if utorrent has limited upload but in fact is unlimited. This has never happened before. When i stop utorrent everything is ok.
vantara Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Same problem here. Started about a week ago... probably when I upgraded.
mrraz Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 went back to 1.8.5, downloads at full throttle
Switeck Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Did the 1st and 2nd links in my signature not help?
wacks19 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 hey, i got the same problem here. after the upgrade, my download speed peaks and then drops simultaneously. before it was constant and fix at a certain speed. this is a problem for me because the ETA also changes as my DL and UL speed fluctuate. i cant get the right estimate of how long will it take to finish my download. please help us.>>> i tried to go back to my old version. it used to be fixed to a certain speed but now it's the same with version 2.0.
iertod Posted February 14, 2010 Author Report Posted February 14, 2010 I didn't see the recommended settings before.I think this fixed it. Thanks switeck.
bokyone Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Point is that the settings i had for last two years worked just fine (with all previous versions) until version 2.0

wacks19 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 T_T i never should have upgraded. i had a feeling somethings going to be wrong that's why i was ignoring the auto update several times before, i dont know what made me click it.. i should have read the forums first. now, i cant DL my favorite movies.
Switeck Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Test with Bandwidth Management turned off under preferences, bittorrent. (that disables uTP)
rapizemun Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Nope same problem, read first on forum, tried and then later write up post here Couple of friends also have problem in ver 2.0, any chance to have problem with windows 7?But already disable with bt.transp_disponsition to 5 from 15
Switeck Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Win 7 is not believed to be a problem-causer for uTorrent.AV and software firewall programs not running well in Win 7 is believed to be a problem-causer for uTorrent.
bokyone Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I have Win 7 and KIS 2010 and had no problems with 1.8.5

DreadWingKnight Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 You are completely unsupported as long as you have that mindset.
