Utorrent eating up my memory and crashes(no firewalls installed)

Both version 1.85 and 2.0 are doing that on Windows 2008 Server Web 64bits.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

And what disk cache settings do you have in uT's preferences?

Enable caching of disk writes, disable windows' caching of disk reads.

I get disk overload after that, then i had to change override automatic cache change to 1000MB.

But it still eats my memory...

The only thing I can see that would actually cause the problem would be dumeter, other than that, I'm not sure.

Like Arshad07, I find utorrent hogs cpu in Windows 7 64-bit (which it never did with XP). For me, everything slows to snail's pace and hdd chatters away like crazy, but no crashes. What are the chances of a 64-bit version of utorrent that takes into account what seems to be a not uncommon occurrence?

The trick is, I'm running on 64-bit windows with the regular version and not getting the same behavior.

I'm pleased for you. However, going on discussion in these forums and other internet sites, there appear to be some--maybe not a large percentage but quite possibly a significant number--of utorrent users with Windows 7 64-bit machines who have a cpu usage type of issue.

When I used XP I was an enthusiastic utorrent user. It has performance and feature advantages over other programs. But at the moment I can't use it, and I am sort of hoping that a 64-bit version is in the offing.
