GAdam
I've got a hundred completed torrents in my client, some of these no doubt have no seeders and have people trying to download them. Obviously I wouldn't expect good results from just trying to seed all the torrents simultaneously. However, it would probably make the torrents more persistent if after a torrent was finished, you could have an option of a "last ditch-only" or "passive" seeding mode, of having the client check periodically and seed only if someone was trying to download the file and there were no other seeds available. This would have only a small effect on torrents that remain popular and well-seeded, but could extend the life of rarely used torrents by years.
