Virus X
Hi Everyone I have a Wimax USB Modem and I'm Firewalled by my ISP , which means that I can't forward any port . Is there any thing I can do to improve speed ? maybe a proxy server or anything similar to that , maybe there's a work around my ISP firewall or something I also have 2 questions in my mind , hope that you can answer them : 1- Can I make a torrent and seed it even if the port is closed ?2- Will there be a Utorrent that doesn't require port forwarding ?Thanks in advance for all who helped and also for those who tried to help RegardsMuhammad Najem
Switeck
uTP and Teredo/IPv6 can allows some incoming connections that way, even without a proxy or VPN.You also have to consider what you're ALLOWED to do with your connection...many WiMax services strictly forbid 24/7 torrent use. Virus X
@Switech But even if the uTP and Teredo/IPv6 are enabled the speed is very low , especially uploading speed . It doesn't exceed few KB even though it should reach 125KB .As for my ISP , it doesn't forbid any torrent use or anything related it . They are just blocking ports because they're using a firewall and unfortunately their tech support is very poor so I can't contact them and complain about this issue .Now , you mentioned Proxy and VPN could you please tell me more about them ? and if I used a proxy , would it make it possible to forward ports ? and what type of proxies is best to use ? and the same questions about VPN . Thanks a lot for your support I'm waiting for your reply RegardsMuhammad Najem
Switeck
I mentioned that uTP and Teredo/IPv6 work without a proxy or VPN. That doesn't mean I can give help with the latter. I don't know the speed of your service.I don't know your uTorrent settings.I don't know what troubleshooting steps you've done.1st and 2nd links in my signature! Switeck
2 Mb/s what? sustained, peak, 95% percentile? Download? upload? both? total combined?Almost all proxies have NO means of receiving incoming connections and VERY few VPNs do either.I don't know how to configure them, but it would be work that has to be done on the VPN's side rather than on yours. The 2 links in my signature may improve your speeds.
Virus X
@Switeck2MB\S Connection Speed = 256KB Download & 125KB Upload As for Proxy and VPN , I guess I'll just have to live with it ( the fact that my ISP who blocks all ports )maybe someday they will forward a port . Thanks again Switeck for your help and support RegardsMuhammad Najem
