graymay
Hi,Ive usd Utorrent for ages and never really had any concerns with it but I recently moved house and upgraded it to the new verison 2.0 and am getting low speeds.I ran the Glasnost test which says my ISP doesnt throttle at all and can download things outside of Utorrent at about 500kbs. My Utorrent speeds only ever go from 0 kbs to 5 kbs though, Ive read the guides and looked through the forums but Im not exactly a computer buff so I might have missed something.I ran a speed test at testmy.net...:::.. testmy.net test results ..:::Download Connection is:: 978 Kbps about 0.98 Mbps (tested with 1536 kB)Download Speed is:: 119 kB/sUpload Connection is:: 308 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)Upload Speed is:: 38 kB/sTested From:: http://testmy.net (Main)Test Time:: 2010/02/18 - 5:38am D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-W423UP09GU-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-0HAQSRIVF User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0) [!]Does anyone have any ideas?Thank you. kariput
Hi, I had been running 1.8.5 for more than a year with no problems. I just upgraded to 2.0 about an hour ago and experienced the exact same thing you did. My DL speed dropped to 5 kB or less and stayed there. Upload was running at its normal level. I ran the uTorrent 2.0 self-test, but that only told me things were configured correctly. DL speed still remained under 5 kB.Then I went into preferences and set my Upload speed down to 10 kB from 25. Suddenly the DL came to life and climbed to the 40-50 kB levels I am used to. I left it that way for a few minutes, then reset my upload level back to 25 kB where it had been. The DL speed has remained stable at 40-50.I don't have an explanation, but that is what worked for me. I hope this helps.Good luck!
Switeck
Someone else recently complained that Sky broadband was running uTorrent really slowly.
kariput
I think there must be a serious problem with version 2.0. After running for about 12 hours, my download speeds have fluctuated wildly. With 5 torrents being downloaded, total DL speed peaks at around 30 for about two minutes then drops to near zero for around one minute, then climbs back to 30 for another two minutes. This cycle has been repeating for hours. Upload speed is holding steady at 20.I keep losing seed connections when the speed drops to zero on some of the torrents. Very aggravating. This behavior has only started since I upgraded from 1.8.5 to 2.0.Is there a way to roll back to 1.8.5 without losing all the torrents and statistics?EDIT: I see that this problem is under discussion in the "60 second anomaly" thread. My problem is exactly what the original poster there ie experiencing.
