Utorrent, crashing and hogging resources

First post but thought this could be of help to someone. I recently updated to 2.0 and things were going fine then utorrent started to hang ang hog resources and essentially crash. After several days of pulling my hair out I remembered I had added additional trackers to my torrents I was downloaded in hopes of better speed. Low and behold I deleted the trackers and in some cases the torrents altogether and wallah, utorrent now running back to norm with great speed.

Guess what i am trying to say is, unless you really know what your doing, DONT PLAY WITH ADDING ADDITIONAL TRACKERS. This may have already been covered but I just thought I would contribute and maybe help someone out.

F.Y.I. http://www.H33T.com always seems to have wonderful d/ls and trackers with great health and speed. Sure there are many more I have yet to find. Do you know of anyother sites similar to H33T? Plz do foward them to me.

The automatic adding of additional trackers has been rejected because of the stupidly high number of trackers that people add to torrents in addition to the actual problems it generates (including the reduced speed for actual downloads because of the increased tracker announce overhead).

We agree that adding piles of trackers is rarely, if ever, a good idea.

DeadWingKight, Ah..... Thanks for the confirmation that the addingof trakers isnt a good ideal. Any good info on how to speed up downlpoads which seem slow or trakers seem to always be offline or otjher errors appear? Maybe best to delete upload and try another torrent altogether.

I remove both dead trackers and trackers that only return my ip as a peer/seed on the torrent.
