patcat88
What ports does utp use? This is never mentioned in BEP 29.
DreadWingKnight
the same as the TCP listen port usually.
Firon
The same as the TCP listen port. Only one port is ever reported to the tracker (DHT and PEX too), so it should be the same for both TCP and uTP, else no one will be able to connect to you. patcat88
Azureus allows a different UDP port from TCP port. How is that implemented? Not sure how many other BT clients allow different TCP and UDP ports.
Firon
That's for DHT. That's separate. And Vuze does tell the tracker, I think by sending &azudp=
drizzle
clarification please -When uT makes an OUTgoing utp connection, what is the source ("reply to") port?ie does it open an unused port (like for outgoing TCP) or does it use the config'd port?(And while we're at it, what about OUTgoing DHT connections?)FWIW - Have long-standing issues using utp - xfers eventually slow to a crawl. Been experimenting with latest 2.0.4 utp, and tried disabling OUTgoing utp connects - so far no slow down. (fyi - using router embedded in Westel DSL modem)
