planetj
I have been a member of the forum for a few months and I come here from time to time to solve my problems with utorrent. I was a user of 1.82. After I updated to 1.83, utorrent stopped working. I read through many threads and couldn't solve the problem and just gave up and began using utorrent on my other PC which runs XP as it's operating system. I am getting tired of constantly switching over to that computer just to use utorrent. I updated recently to version 2.0. on this computer, but seem to encounter the same problems. I ran hijackthis 2.0.2 and got the logfile if anyone can help me. I am running Vista as my operating system.Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 11:50:12 AM, on 2/22/2010Platform: Windows Vista SP1 (WinNT 6.00.1905)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6001.18226)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\Program Files (x86)\M-Audio Ozone\OZTask.exeC:\Program Files\Camera Assistant Software for Gateway\traybar.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArcSoft\Connection Service\Bin\ACDaemon.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exeC:\Program Files\Camera Assistant Software for Gateway\CEC_MAIN.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\ieuser.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10c.exeC:\Windows\SysWOW64\NOTEPAD.EXEc:\Users\Owner\Downloads\HiJackThis.exeR1 - Pika
alright i didn't think i was slow but i looked through these forums and found no aid so hopefully this will be able to help. Here's the deal:I downloaded the new 2.0 (hooray usually) and before this update everything ran smoooothly. but now its like it has selective downloading. there are invalids flying around EVERYWHERE. which is terrible. I would like to know if there is anything that changed or if there is anything I need to change?the most i can tell you is that i run on Vista (64) and I have the free version of AVG and then the standard windows defender and firewall, which i have checked them to be able to get through.seriously anything will help! help! help! ;

Pika
i actually have been using them and yet they find themselves useless. every time i go to download something it says unable to load. (insert name) Invalid Torrent File. and this (again) didn't currently do this until i upgraded.so i am sure you can tell me it's my fault or the other torrents issue but honestly this didn't happen until I upgraded. planetj
I have removed Zone Alarm and disabled windows firewall. It still is not connecting to any peers or doing much of anything. I'm not using any router, I have my laptop connected to the cable modem by a ethernet cable. I have no issues whatsoever when I'm on my other laptop which runs XP as it's OS. One thing that I am noticing is that in the "tracker" tab it says "no connection can be made because the target machine actively refused it."There must be some sort on network problem. I can't even do the setup test. Under speed test results: Connection failed error: a request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is......... I not sure what that means.I've read through the faq's and other parts of the forum, and nothing seems to work.

planetj
I have disabled the auto-update ability in the PC that runs XP. (maybe the reason why it continues to work) I have tried to go back to earlier versions of uTorrent on the PC that runs Vista, but I have been unable to delete all traces of the program. Also my problems with uTorrent started while I was using McAfee. One of the reason's why I went to Zone Alarm was to use uTorrent.I will follow your advice and try to use an earlier version of uTorrent.
