barack
Seeding two torrents with practically no activity (<50kBps UL on 100Mbps wired). Sample available but I cannot post it due to 64KB post limit.
NoOneButMe
Put the sample on pastie or something and link to it here? Otherwise you might as well be saying "uTorrent makes my pet fish dance".

Firon
Thanks for the sample. This is actually pretty useful and gives a good idea of what the problem is.Would you be willing to give a few more samples of different occasions when it happens? isaiasmy
Hello, i have also the same problem of cpu consumption. I have a macbook pro with Mac OS X 10.6.2, 2.53 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB Ram. I'm using Version 0.9.3.2 (18468).When utorrent works properly, it works great!!!! However, if it enter in a 100 cpu% cpu loop, the laptop becomes hotter and the download speed falls. Thanks. My sample is http://pastebin.com/tFkjnV8W
gn0s1s
Same issue here on early 2009 iMac, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM. Running Mac OS X 10.6.2. Using µTorrent 0.9.3.2 (18468).It's using 100% of one of my CPU cores.Pastebin of sample (RAW): http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=g1DHCtmDCheers, hope this helps to fix it. Loa
Hello, I just wanted to report the same occasional problem on my system. I'm using version 0.9.2 (17267) because I noticed (incorrectly perhaps) that it occurred less frequently with 9.2 instead of 9.3. I know have a feeling that it's related to specific torrent files instead of the app itself. I'm running a 2009 MacPro 2.66 quad with 8GB of RAM, OS X 10.6.2. I'd gladly link some samples, as it's happening right now, but I don't know how to get them from uTorrent. Loa
isaiasmy
Launch de Activity Monitor in Utilities folder. Finde the process utorrent and select it. Finally, click on the Sample Process Button and save the result. Usually the result is large so it is necessary to use something like pastebin.com to publish here the result. Loa
Hello, -------------------------------------------Possible solution, see bottom of post.-------------------------------------------Thx isaiasmy. Here are four samples:-The first one when everything is going fine, utorrent maximizing my internet connection. (http://pastebin.com/xqwRga2F)-The second one is mere minutes later, just when it started to use 100% of a core. Downloading at about half speed. (http://pastebin.com/hkpunkWU)-The third one is a few minutes later, back to regular. (http://pastebin.com/crnEidFa)-The fourth one is a minute later, one CPU back at 100%. (http://pastebin.com/sbRwidac)And it keeps oscillating like this for a while, before becoming permanently stuck at 100%. Hope this can help!LoaP.S. Since I can't add another post, I'll add my new comments in a big P.S.------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello, I may have something to add to this troubleshooting. After collecting the samples above I checked to see how many .torrent files I had in "pointers" folder. A lot. I was downloading about 20 files, but I had over 75 .torrent files in that folder. So roughly 50+ files that had been successfully downloaded, removed from the uTorrent app, but which had their .torrent files still present. I deleted all the "completed" .torrent files and restarted uTorrent. Result: for the past hour or so it's been running full speed, with no sign of the 100% problem. Maybe coincidence, maybe not!Loa-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------All day long, even after adding and removing torrents from uTorrents, but always making sure to delete the .torrent file of every torrent I removed from the app, I haven't seen the 100% "bug" at all. This is a sharp contrast to the past few days-weeks, where it would pop up all the time. So it appears that removing all the non-active .torrent file from your "pointer" folder is the solution to the problem. Here's hoping!Loa
theron
Thanks for the info! Loa, are you updated to 0.9.3.2 or is this still 0.9.3.1?I'll see what I can make of the samples.
Loa
Hello, I'm still using version 0.9.2 (17267)! I could try 9.3.2, but I only have 1 torrent to download right now. I'll upgrade and see what happens during the week. LoaP.S. Update: still going strong and free from any 100% problems! (03-20-10)
