problem with client after last update

after patching to (18296)

all of my downloads and uploads keep on failing to recieve info from server and say that server is offline or keep and try updating it and then go offline (red arrows)

Your software firewall/s may be blocking uTorrent.

there wasnt any problem before the patching, i dont use a firewall only router and McAfee AV, the small triangle is green and port test says everything is green

McAfee will often silently block uTorrent upon updating. Norton does it too. Remove the exceptions/rules for uTorrent in McAfee then re-allow it.

I had the same problem after installing the 18296 build and the patch before that one (about a week ago I don't know the build number). I spent alot of time reading the troubleshooting but still couldn't fix it. I even thought it was my router. I ended up re-installing build 17414 and everythings running smooth again. Don't delete your utorrent directories when you uninstall built 18296 so that everythings there when you re-install an earlier version.

That's a classic sign of your firewall blocking the new version. They usually do this because they see "oh, the exe no longer matches the one I allowed, so I'm going to block it"

I'll try built 18296 again and check my exceptions/rules for utorrent, I'm using Norton. That makes sense because I originally had that same issue when I first installed utorrent, even though when you install it it asks if you want to make a firewall exception in windows it didn't affect the Norton firewall. I'll post back.

I tried everything... open all exceptions that are already open, removing them and re-applying, changing client settings.... nothing.... tried to install 17920 back and it started getting jammed too >
