I've caught my roommate multiple times which slows my Internet down, I've told her to tell me when shes on so i don't DL as well to really slow the net down.I have the pass to the WiFi and i can change things. and can i stop her from using it ?Thank s for your help

GTHK Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 You could try going through normal configuration and the troubleshooting guides so that it plays nice. As for detection, one method would be using nmap to scan her ports (may or may not set firewalls off though).
Switeck Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 If your router shows a list of all the connections it has in use, you could check that.BitTorrent almost always has 30+ connections...and incoming ones will all be bound for 1 port on that computer.It is possible to overload an internet connection with just 1-3 connections in uTorrent, but it unlikely...
