joetechno
I used to have no problems for years with utorrent. Now I am getting this "error: access is denied" message for most of my torrents. Could it be the hard drive as I didn't have this problem with other drives. It is a Maxtor 500GB external drive, five or six years old. The hard drive is encrypted with TrueCrypt. Could that be a problem? A lot of these torrents were transferred from other drives yet some torrents downloaded directly to this drive give me the same error. I have recently been given "Error: Invalid download state, try resuming." I resume and then I get the access is denied error. It seems like the torrent can connect to peers and download for a minute or two, and then like it hit some kind of time limit, stops. Why would it run for a short period of time when it shouldn't download at all? Am I getting alot of poisoned links? I am using Peerblock. I have no software firewall. I am using Windows 7 Professional. My internet connection works fine. Lately my internet connection has been failing but when I restart the modem and router everything is fine. This "access is denied" error had been going on for some months though. I think after I upgraded to Win 7, from Vista. I noticed Vista did not like transferring files from my computer to encrypted drives. The torrents that have finished can be seeded just fine.
