Richard2011
With the recent ISP change to CenturyLink, I am downloading ridiculously fast. But during the downloads, internet browsers, as well as games, do not connect. The downloads are fine. Does anybody recognize this problem? It might be that I upgraded to 2.0 instead of the ISP change, but I'm just not sure.
rederter
Try limiting the upload speed.
Richard2011
The upload speed is set to 1 kB/s.
DreadWingKnight
What are your settings for preferences - bandwidth and preferences - queueing? Also, http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992
Richard2011
Bandwidth: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x20/DawgGoRawr/bandwidth.jpgQueueing: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x20/DawgGoRawr/queueing.jpgAlso, I've never had this problem before other than with uTorrent, but it could narrow down the possible solutions. The game you see in the screenshots on taskbar, Granado Espada, well it was updating, and my browser was slowed, and even stopped, in some instances. Could that narrow down the cause of this problem to my router? I've got all the settings set to default on the router.
DreadWingKnight
It probably is something in the router. Is the SPI firewall enabled in it?
Richard2011
I looked through the router settings. If "SPI Firewall" is the same thing as "Active Firewall," then yes, it is on.The updating game might not even be a problem. I'm not sure. It's been updating since I replied back the uploading speed question and has only happened a few times. uTorrent is what really stops it all the time. DreadWingKnight
"Active Firewall" in the router is likely the same as the SPI firewall, and really should be off.All it ends up being is a waste of the router's EXTREMELY limited resources and offers no real protection. Richard2011
Thanks. I'll try that and see if that fixes the problem next time I need to use uTorrent.EDIT: Disabling firewall, didn't seem to do anything, but I applied all the setting changes except for the last 2, in the link you posted, and it seems like it is working. But I'm just wondering, will those changes decrease my download speeds?
DreadWingKnight
They are actually likely to INCREASE your speeds because you're wasting less of your connection on protocol overhead.
