Warddo120 Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Heya guys, Im just wondering if you could maybe help me with my recent speed drops. I have set up Utorrent right, the port is green and it is cleared in my firewalls. my old speed was 1 mb/s and up, but now its down to a crawling 108 kb/s i have run old torrents that used to be speedy downloads to test my speeds, and i have noticed that im not connecting to alot of seeds as i used to, at the moment i have connected to 13 out of 13k seeds, and i used to be connecting to hundreds and now not so much! i have not changed any settings, i just have changed ports if they are not connecting, and its been like a week since i have used utorrent so any help? Thanks
fred99911 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I'm wondering if you are having the same issue as me. Are you SURE it's transferring at 108kb/s or does it just say that? I have verified that transfer speeds that show at 40kb/s are actually transferring at 400kb/s. Transfers are actually 10x what it's displaying, it's almost as if the decimal point is off by one. Your 108kb/s x 10 would be the 1mb/s that you were expecting. To tell, just watch how many MB are downloaded per second in the Downloaded column. If it's roughly increasing by 1 every second then it's indeed transferring at 1mb/s and you are having the same issue as me.Perhaps a lot of the posts about slow speeds are actually the same problem... it's just not displaying the speeds properly. Can a developer or someone verify what I'm talking about? it seems clear as a bell to me it's a decimal point issue, at least in my case.
Scalawag Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 I have this issue as well... Last week I was downloading the latest Lost, which had like 4000 seeds or something ridiculous like that, and my speed was only registering at maybe 90 kb/s or so, maybe 100, but the episode finished in a few minutes, which it definitely wouldn't have if it was going that speed. I basically can't trust the ETA or the speed and just have to look at the progress bar... :\ Not really sure why I'm still using uTorrent tbh, after writing all this down... :|
swiney Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'm seeing problems too. I was using the newest 0.9.3 build, and decided to check out 0.9.2 again. I saw approximately twice as many seeds and peers in 0.9.2 (and as a result had must faster downloads)
theron Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 You are all using this on a PPC right? I suggest you download the latest alpha 0.9.3.6 (19100). This should fix the issue.
