BillBauer
Hello, After I got the second to last upgrade of uTorrent, my pc started to crash. My pc started to crash every 15 minutes, after I got the last upgrade of uTorrent. When I am not using uTorrent, my pc is not crashing. Is it possible for me to get an earlier version of uTorrent, that worked so well on my pc before I upgraded it to a newer version?Thank you! Firon
The crash is because of a problem driver on your system. Did you write down the crash message?
BillBauer
For some reason, to see the error message following a crash, my pc is trying to open Firefox. However, Firefox has been crashing on my system for over a year now. I tried to change the default browser through IE, but after a crash, when I try to view the message, my pc is still trying to open Firefox, that won't open.I am sorry that my case is so screwed up... Firon
Firefox was crashing your system? Uh, it sounds to me like your whole system is kinda screwed, bud. You might wanna reinstall Windows altogether.
BillBauer
Firefox is NOT crashing my system. It just won't start. After uTorrent crashes my system, and the system restarts, I get an error message saying that my system has just recovered from a serious problem. For details I am supposed to click a link in that error message. When I click the link, my system tries to open Firefox. Firefox crashes. My system doesn't.Is there a way for me to get hold of an older version of uTorrent?
Firon
That isn't gonna fix the problem... run Bluescreenview and give me the output here. It really sounds like your system has malware on it, though. Firefox isn't supposed to crash like that.http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
PiusX
@ billbauer this sounds like your system O/S has problems and is nothing related to Ut or FF if so something is seriously corrupted file system and as other said you will need to find it or reinstall your O/S to fix the problem. Those software aren't the cause of your problem.

vlad2601
I am having the same issue.I was running a previous version of uTorrent successfully for a long while now, with no issues.I received a notification for the upgrade and decided to accept. After it switched over to 2.0, the app ran fine for a little while then blue screened. I switched back to the old version I had stored and had no problems.I noticed that the dates had changed on the latest updated 2.0 and tried again. And again the exact same blue screen after running successfully for a while. This is the only variable that has changed.Unfortunately, it also appears that I have overwritten the old version I had and so I no longer have a functioning uTorrent.BlueScreenView output:Bug Check String - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALBug Check Code - 0x100000d1Parameter 1: 0x00000006Parameter 2: 0x00000002Parameter 3: 0x00000000Parameter 4: 0xb9d0dabeCaused by Driver: NDIS.sysCaused by Address: NDIS.sy+22abeFile Description: NDIS 5.1 wrapper driverProduct Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating SystemCompany: Microsoft CorporationFile Version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-0852)Processor: 32-bitProcessors count: 4Major Version: 15Minor Version: 2600

vlad2601
Well, how's that for coincidence?Realtek RTL8168C(P)ver. 5.708.1030.2008It would appear that something about the 2.0 doesn't like this controller with at least this driver.I'm updating to the latest driver and will report back.***Updated****Updating the driver did not fix the issue.Roughly 45 min after starting uTorrent, my system crashed with the same BSOD as before, referencing ndis.sys.I'm not sure if it's a time thing or something that I am doing on the computer while uTorrent is running that causes the issue. This time I was watching a local mkv video file in fullscreen with VLCTo clarify, upgrading to uTorrent 2.0 is the only thing that has changed from when I was able to run uTorrent without issue, to now when my system crashes every time I run it. vlad2601
Anyone have any insight as to why 2 machines with the same NIC crash with the uTorrent 2.0?

vlad2601
Why would the driver work fine for uTorrent 1.8 but not 2.0? I am running the latest driver. That is the only change on my system. It would be helpful to know possible conflicts that can cause such catastrophic failures. i.e. the Nero service mentioned in another thread (unfortunately, this is not installed on my system and thus not the issue.)Some guidance as to possible root causes would go a long way so that those of us experiencing this issue aren't left with no course of action. Most frustrating of all this is that I have no way to get back to the version that worked without issue. Switeck
uT v1.8.x didn't make uTP outgoing connections which are UDP packet based.uT v2.0 does make uTP outgoing connections. This hoses weak networking.
vlad2601
Would you quantify weak networking?Would modifying the net.uTP_target_delay or net.utp_receive_target_delay settings change this "hosing" affect?
Switeck
Weak networking software and hardware generally "fall over" when under the "modest" load of 100 incoming connections a minute and default uTorrent v2.0 settings.Only in the sense that raising them to 1000 ms will make your network die more quickly.
