misawa23 Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a clear response to this. I just purchased a new computer yesterday and attached my external hard drive with my utorrent files to it. I had to download and install utorrent again and as far as I know, I kept my settings the same. I chose the same drive as the location to download new files to (the new computer did change the drive letter from what it was on the other computer and I changed the drive letter in utorrent, but I didn't think that it would matter). The problem is that I can't figure out how to get utorrent to seed my old utorrent files from the external drive. I have alot of downloads on the drive and it would be a shame if I wasn't able to seed them any longer. I'm still using 1.85 if that helps any. Thanks for any help.
moogly Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Use freeware BEncode Editor (http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306) and edit the file resume.dat (in folder %appdata%\utorrent) to change the path of the torrents you have moved onto your new HD. (use ability "find/replace" as any text editor).NB: make a backup copy of resume.dat before editing it.
misawa23 Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 Thank You, I'll let you know how it turns out.
