oldyellr
I've been using torrents for the last 2-3 years and lately switched to uTorrent because some trackers didn't like the BitTornado I was using. I've been downloading an older movie for several days and now, at 76%, I'm getting almost nothing, like 1.1 kB/s and about 10 kB/s upload.Along the top it says Seeds 0 (4) Peers 2 (65) - I'd post a screen capture, but I can't see how to do it here.Okay, here's a later screenshot just to show you what I mean:Why am I not connected to those seeds and peers? If there are 4 seeds and 65 peers, why am I only connected to 0 seeds and 2 peers? PiusX
What is the file your trying to download? Just cause your seeing it doesn't mean you will get it. With that small of seeders their upload speed may be set to low to upload fast enough to seed out correctly. Or else the seeders come and go or limit their upload seeds. oldyellr
It's a movie from 1985, 4.31 gigs, as you can see. Something I found through isoHunt, so there are few seeds and peers. Normally I download torrents of concerts from dimedozen.org where each torrent has a lot of seeds and peers because it's fresh. Here's another shot:What does it mean when it says Seeds 0(4) and Peers 0(3)? To me a seed is someone who has the whole file and a peer is someone who doesn't. It appears at the moment that there are 4 seeds out there, but I'm not connected to any of them, nor am I connected to any of the 3 peers. Is that correct? If so, why? I first connected to this torrent 3 days ago and it was downloading at a much faster pace, should not have taken more than a day, but then it just slowed down to where it would take an infinite amount of time. I'm just trying to figure out what uTorrent is telling me.
Pawnz0rz
My understanding of thoose numbers (though not guaranteed to be correct):ie: 0 (4) Seeds / 0 (3) Peers0 persons with the entire file are available for you to connect to. 4 persons who have the entire file are online. 0 persons with parts of the file are availavle for you to connect to. 3 Persons with parts of the file are online.Maybe they set their upload to Zero (jerks!), or maybe they have reached their connection or U/L limit and as a result you cant connect. Either way, 7 people isn't a healthy torrent.
oldyellr
Yeah, a couple days ago I saw a peer in France and one in Belgium. Right now I'm seeing one in the U.S. and my ETA is about 14 hours, although Availability is .944. Hopefully he's getting more from another seed and doesn't quit when it's compete. PiusX
Sounds like seeding problem and not enough seeders seeding.
