teomor
windows 7 x64utorrent 2.0wireless laneset smart security 4.0i usually leave my laptop running at night on battery with firefox, yahoo messenger and utorrent running so when it runs out of battery it goes to hibernation.when pc comes back from hibernation the next day, if the utorrent window was last active, it shows the 'busy' mouse pointer and title says that it's not responding.firefox however is responding, i can switch tabs and go through the menu and everything, but as soon as i click the windows taskbar or try to exit firefox or any other running program, they all stop responding.the forced end task dialogue doesn't show up no matter what..i cannot even start the task manager using ctrl-shift-esc or ctrl-alt-del.the only thing that still works is the mouse pointer and the power button to reset my system.if i remember correctly, this started to happen after the 2.0 utorrent update...is there anyone with a similar issue or knowledge of this?thx.EDIT:oh, i forgot to mention, when i resume my pc, i'm at a different location (at work, the next morning) so i have a different wireless router -> this may be the cause...?!EDIT:actually i was totally wrong. this doesn't happen when i come out of hibernation, but when i come out of SLEEP!i forgot i actually resumed my computer from hibernation in the morning, and then closed the lid = put it to sleep before leaving to work.sorry for the confusion.. PiusX
Wait I don't get it. You leave it running with battery on and you mean it doesn't shutdown itself to prevent data loss or save on battery? That sounds more like a hardware problem or bad drivers for your laptop. You might want to check and make sure your drivers are correct and updated. I do know on desktop 7x64 Ult that with Ut running it stays running and doesn't go to sleep mode. So for your laptop to to hibernate might the cause of the problem locking up your keyboard functions. I would say never leave your laptop just using the battery rather keep it plugged into power to save on using the battery til you really go to some where there isn't a power plug available to use. teomor
it doesn't shutdown itself. it hibernates when there's no more battery left. this is the default windows 7 power settings.it would first sleep BUT utorrent has a setting that prevents sleep while it is running (same as bsplayer or windows media player if you ever used them and fell asleep while watching a movie on battery), so the laptop stays ON until there's 7% battery power, and than the system hibernates no matter what.EDIT:oh, i forgot to mention, when i resume my pc, i'm at a different location (at work, the next morning) so i have a different wireless router -> this may be the cause....?!EDIT:actually i was totally wrong. this doesn't happen when i come out of hibernation, but when i come out of SLEEP!i forgot i actually resumed my computer from hibernation in the morning, and then closed the lid = put it to sleep before leaving to work.sorry for the confusion..
