CognacDutch
I see there are 4 peers already but nobody has downloaded any files from me yet. The trackers are working, and my network is ok and forwarded properly. I uploaded torrent to btjunkie. They say I have to wait a few hours before the torrent becomes public but if this is so, why are there four peers already? Sorry if I sound dumb but any help will be appreciated. moogly
Are you superseeding this torrent?
CognacDutch
I unticked the inital seeding option because I thought I had enough upload speed. Should I tick it?
moogly
No, especially if only few peers (2 or 3 who don't want to upload to each other) join the torrent when you start seeding.
CognacDutch
Right, right... so where do you think those 4 peers came from (they're all gone now) because I searched btjunkie for my torrent and it's not posted yet.
moogly
Yes, if the torrent is not yet published, nobody can find your .torrent and join the swarm. So just wait.(few peers can appear if DHT is on and your torrent is already posted)

Switeck
If you're not connecting to any peers, the 4 "seen" are probably already seeds or already left.
CognacDutch
Switeck ModeratorRe: How long before I can start seeding a newly created torrent?"If you're not connecting to any peers, the 4 "seen" are probably already seeds or already left".How can they already be seeds if nobody downloaded any files from me? Not one kB has been transfered from me in the 24+ hrs of this torrents life. I go to the site where I uploaded the torrent and it says there are 2 seeds but uTorrent only shows 1 seed (perhaps me?). The peers in uTorrent look like this now 0(7) Not one peer has connected to me yet.Maybe I need to start over and redo torrent? Is this a good idea since the torrent is already published on the site I uploaded it to?Any insight, opinions or guesses would be appreciated. moogly
What's the color of the network icon in your client? Green circle or yellow triangle?
CognacDutch
It keeps fluctuating between a green circle check mark to a yellow triangle. Then back to a green check mark...
Switeck
If you're the only seed then the "ghost" seed the tracker saw could be your alternate ip address -- possibly native IPv6 or Teredo/IPv6? Or your IPv4 address changed at some point recently and the tracker still remembers the old one."The peers in uTorrent look like this now 0(7)Not one peer has connected to me yet."Copy the peer list out of the Peers window/tab (right-click in window), paste that in notepad or wordpad. Do the ips seem legit/sensible?Anything in a LAN range is strictly unreachable, as is multicast and probably bogons as well.
