StoicJester
what do you think? it could help filter out noobs who've just joined.
DreadWingKnight
Not many people read the stickys like they should.
Ultima
Yeah, there was a sticky a while ago explicitly stating that ludde was NOT going to consider password protection... well the questions still kept flooding in.
hofshi
still seems like a good idea. at least it will help those who do try to read the stickys.
StoicJester
i read the stickies when i got here...
Ultima
Yeah but that's you. You'd be surprised how many people don't.Anyway, I guess it won't hurt to add something like this, but I don't see that much gain out of it...
hofshi
Ultima: may I suggest a little optimism? we only encounter those who do not read the stickys, and we never encounter those who do. There may be more of them then it seems.Of course there is always the possibility that I am way off on this
Vectorferret
Would be good if the srticky's had a more obvious icon too. Sometimes you miss them. Also, there should be in either that one or some other sticky, to write decent subject lines when posting a feature request. the "An easy feature to add" (which they don't actually know without seeing the code, but that's another rant) or "Some ideas for utorrent" are pretty useless when reading the forum. Really, we should make a guideline to have a separate thread for each feature, and to have some kind of title describing what it does rather than just "Feature Request", that's the name of the forum, not the post. Useless subject lines are no good for anyone.

Ultima
@hofshi:Heh you're using what I used on Firon (about people reading the FAQ) against me xDI do try to be optimistic, but unfortunately, there will always be people who don't read, and these are the people who filter right through these little things called stickies, readmes, and FAQs, and come straight to posting. Heck, when you post a new topic, isn't there a big red warning telling you to read first? Even that doesn't help much...
hofshi
Ultima: I didn't intend to use it "against " you, it was just a little tease...

StoicJester
c'mon ultima. there will always be one or two noobs who make it through the net. they keep things from getting boring. i mean, someone today posted a help thread in the general forum. i think he installed µTorrent without knowing what bittorrent was. it gave me a laugh. Ultima
All we've been getting has been a handful anyway, and that's all we'll get if this gets posted, which is why I'm saying it probably won't make a difference. Again, I'm not saying it shouldn't be posted ;PEdit: Holy crap is it just me, or have there been more and more dupes lately? I guess that's a sign of µTorrent becoming more popular... =|
