spysmily1 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 I have certain torrents that can be downloaded by using a folder from a previous torrent download. Here's the question: Is there any way to manage this new torrent so I don't have to manually delete the files that aren't needed from the previous torrent download? Please ask questions if I need to be clearer. I tried searching for my problem but it was hard to find the correct search terms so I found nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
moogly Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Just relocate the new torrent. You choose the previous folder where the file is already downloaded and force a recheck.
spysmily1 Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 I've already downloaded the torrent but the old files that are no longer needed remained with the new torrent. I was wondering if there was a way to have these removed without having to manually delete them all.
moogly Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 You cannot remove a specific file from a multifiles torrent via your client, you can only remove the whole torrent job. You have to do manually from the folder. So remove the files you don't want anymore and relocate the files you want to seed, that's all.
spysmily1 Posted March 18, 2010 Author Report Posted March 18, 2010 Maybe I'm not making myself clear. I have a folder with many files let's say about 9600 files. The torrent I'm download only uses 8600 of those files. Whenever I download this to a temp location and utorrent moves it after it fully downloads the file to the final location, all 9600 files are moved, not just the 8600 that are for the torrent. How can I make it so that utorrent only moves the needed files? I understand that I can't alter the torrent which I'm not trying to do. Those other 1000 files are not even part of the torrent. I'm just using an older folder that has the needed files and then some.
