Oral-B Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Been running build 19290 for three days and can't get it to hang so far.FWIW, I had both UPnP and NAT-PMP disabled in previous builds.
yarodin Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Oral-B, same.Firon, ipv6 support is always disable on my local connection, because i don't use it.
jesusofnothing Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 i've been following this thread and the new build that was posted fixed my problem, but it also starts another one being that register/ratio torrent sites don't recognize it yet. so it's really no use for me yet until it's being recognized by these sites. Is there any particular reason why this new build isn't being released officially ?
moogly Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Because it's a testing build and private trackers are not aware about it and most of them don't allow testing builds.
Firon Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Because it's just a simple hack that isn't a real solution.
agenthex Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Firon, would it be possible to include this hack as a user selectable option in the next beta release so that we can use it on private trackers? The really annoying thing in my case is that the problem also causes the audio to crackle a bit (does it happen to everyone else?) after a while, so I'm forced to restart my computer every couple days.BTW, it seems strange that the features removed "fixes" the problem even when we originally had them turned off. (uPnP off, ipv6 not installed on network controller).
Valery_Kondakoff Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 I'm pretty sure the audio crackling is caused by high DPC Latency, which increases when uTorrent is used with most of the antiviruses/firewalls. Check this thread for example: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=59644
Punger Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 With the provided program "utorrent.closehang.exe" the µtorrent.exe is still active(run as admin!). Same situation as with pskill.exe from Russinowitch at the cmd/DOS level. I get as "answer": "It seems like µTorrent is already running, but not responding. Please close all µTorrent processes and try again." Hmmm.??Bug still existing (µTo Version 2.0.1.19248 - Wi7,ESET Smart security 4.0.474.0).Any suggestion?Regards Punger15.5.20102.0.2.19648 ---> still not killable, only by shut downAny suggestion?
vBm Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 Ok ... here is the deal for me ...This type of locking process doesn't happen always ... sometimes it does close properly.I don't have ipv6 nor upnp support enabled. It doesn't matter how long utorrent was running before closing nor it matters if it has any torrents in the list at all.GUI is closed but process is still in the list and even using any type of process killers doesn't help at all.I'm using Win7 Enterprise x86 with 4GB of ram.If you folks need dumps i'll be glad to help out, thou only "problem" is that i have a bit slower upload speed so it might take day and a half to upload full sys dump xD
drfeelgood Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 confirmed, utorrent remains stucked in processes til shut downdoesn't work for me with both versions: utorrent 2.0.2 stable nor closehang one.Win7 Ultimate x86 ~ AMD PhenomII X4 ~ ASUS m4a79xtd EV0

fowl Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 First thing I noticed was O23 - Service: ForceWare IP service (nSvcIp) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NetworkAccessManager\bin32\nSvcIp.exeWhich has known issues with just about everything. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=forceware+utorrent
Baham Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 are there altente drivers / software for the nvidia hw?
fowl Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 FYI "Forceware" is the name they give to the whole driver package, it's only really their firewall components that break things. The installer asks you if you want to install it or not for a reason.
Firon Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 For all users with this problem, press Windows key + R, then type in cmd and hit enter. Type in netsh wfp show filtersThis creates a file called filters.xml in the current working directory (by default, C:\Users\YourUsername). Please zip this file up and email it to me, firon at utorrent.comWe got some feedback from Microsoft and they need this list to continue investigating. yarodin, Oral-B, and everyone else, we'd appreciate the continued help.
LFB Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Well for me the hack utorrent version on this topic worked... the utorrent.exe process is closing... not immediately, but some seconds after closing utorrent window...
Zulithe Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Has there been any progress on this issue? Been two weeks since the last post.
Firon Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 No, MS is still investigating. In the meantime, we're just gonna hack around it in 2.0.3 by disabling IPv6 on 64-bit Windows 7, at least until MS fixes the problem.
Alexvn Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Why only on 64-bit Windows 7? I am using 32-bit version and have this problem.
osm0sis Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Yeah, when I reported this it was on 32-bit Windows 7 as well.
