sathish_utorrent Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Is it possible to add a default tracker to all my torrents in the list without manually adding the same tracker one by one through the properties dialog?
moogly Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 No, it's not and it will never be.It would be like DoS attack against this tracker if thousands peers did the same thing like you.
ovonrein Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 It would be like DoS attack against this tracker if thousands peers did the same thing like you.Interesting thought. As you know, moogly, I followed your advice and did exactly what I suspect Satz is up to: Replacing TPB with OBT everywhere. The upshot of this tedious activity is exactly what Satz requested: the OBT is now on every torrent. I assume that thousands of peers over time will do the same. Does this equate to a DoS attack on OBT? That should be interesting...
sathish_utorrent Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 Considering what ovonrein said, I presume that this activity is not going to make any DoS attack (on any particular tracker). So, if anybody found a tool to add the trackers manually, just post a link here.
moogly Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 Does this equate to a DoS attack on OBT? That should be interesting...Of course not, the main public trackers (like OBT or PBT) are strong and can carry the load. And in your own case, you were alone. But imagine if, by default, it's hardcoded in µT and thousands peers using µT add dozens of torrents with the same unique tracker!Maybe OBT could carry the load but would it be the case for smaller public trackers with smaller servers? Surely not...That's why autoloading trackers into µT has been denied, to avoid tracker overload cases.
