Is it legal to redistribute µTorrent in a "digital Schoolbag" ?

(Zip-File with a lot of preinstalled Software, to be deflated on USB-Sticks.)

I want to do this, an can not find any information about that topic,

while i see µTorrent on a lot of mirror-pages.

Thank You, Karl

In general we encourage people to use uTorrent freely, and depending on what you're planning, you'd probably fit well within this. We draw the line where people do things that seem counter to the spirit of this community, like trying to sell the software (it is supposed to be free) or using our branding in some commercial way (we let some companies pay to license our branding, and so we must insist that people with commercial interests will use their own branding or license ours if they feel there is some value).

Hope this helps.

Feel free to contact bizdev at bittorrent dot com if there's anything commercial to discuss.

Hi there,

I would like to use uTorrent commercially. In the planned setting we would install n uTorrent clients for a customer on n different locations in order to exchange large files between the sites.

1.) Which are the license restristrictions for this kind of commercial usage of uTorrent.

2.) Does uTorrent fall under any export restrictions. If yes wich are applicable?

Regards,

Chris
