heartdrugs Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 Is it possible to delete certain files from a torrent but to still allow the other files in the torrent to be seeded? I have limited space on my hard drive and prefer to not keep files I have no interest in, but at the same time I wish to be able to share with others. Also, I move all my files once they are complete to keep everything else from showing up in media players and whatnot. is there a way to still share those files which I have moved?
Ultima Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Yes, you can still upload existing files after removing some files. There are some caveats...You wouldn't be a seed anymore if you do that. And you wouldn't be able to share edge pieces shared with removed files by files adjacent to said removed files. Meaning if you turn out to be the only remaining peer with those files, you still wouldn't be able to share the whole file because you wouldn't have the full piece to share.
adafni Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Hi,I have a different version to the second question I moved a few downloaded files to a different direcrory.can I add that directory to the setting so they will be able to be seeded?ThanxAvi
moogly Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Stop the torrent job.Right click > Advanced > Set Download Location.Choose the new folder where you have moved the files. You can do that in the tab Files for files within a multifiles torrent job, right click > Relocate.
adafni Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 but the torrent is long gone & i have just the downloaded file...
DreadWingKnight Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Then re-obtain the torrent and point it at your existing files.
