l2k
I ran into this scenario.... the torrent is connected to about 10 seeds and 50 peers. It's running like this in 2.0.40 kB/s down 100 kB/s up (no limits)Obviously I'm not gonna get ripped off like that.Right now I've switched to 1.7.7.40-80 kB/s down 25 kB/s up (upload limit set)I was quite shocked that 2.0 tried to screw me in the ass like that (usually when I use torrents there is no other peers, just seeders). Is there any other "hints" to improve DL/UP ratio in such scenario, with using uTorrent? l2k
My ISP doesn't like me seeding. I try to keep it to the minimum, as a "thank you" for letting me download whatever I want. Also seeding is technically illegal here (not downloading).I only upload when necessary. I'll let the russians take care of seeding.Funny enough, I tried copying all the 100% seeders, and removing all other peers, but they wouldn't seed me anything. :-SI'm sure the best thing to do would be this:Find a pwnage bittorrent client that cheats to download maximum without uploading in return. Use uTorrent to get a peer list for the torrent. Then just go "Paste Peer List" (a function which is missing from uTorrent, but obviously would be in this other client).Any recommendations? GTHK
BitTorrent requires at least some sharing to get others to return the favor. You're best off moving to another system entirely if you wont adhere to the basic principles that allow the system to work.

Switeck
Make sure your upload slot speed is 3-10 KB/sec while downloading.Any slower and other peers may ignore you.Any faster and they cannot return the favor as quickly.
l2k
Thanks Switeck, that's very good advice. Though does uTorrent try to internally limit your download if you limited the upload, or something like that?
Switeck
Only in the extremes, and some of that is due to bugs/overloads.If you limit upload speed or download speed really low, the other also suffers.
