i've read the following thread:

i tried the suggestions but i still get this message when starting utorrent.

"This program is freeware, if you paid for it you have been scammed"

the only thing that i can add is that i've installed several versions of utorrent after downgrading from 2.0 before settling on my current version.

running 1.8.5 17414 on windows 7
