Best way to transfer from point a to b.

I'm going on block on leave, and I'll be flying so I won't be able to take computer. And my mom's computer I doubt has a place to hook up sata drives it's pretty old, and I just as soon not chance it. So I'm wondering is there anyway, I can make it so when I get there I can download from her computer straight from mine without anybody else making use of my connection.

Could i make torrents with my files, and simple email that to her computer, or would somebody else recommend a better tool to use to do something of this nature. Preferable an easy to use one as I would like to test it before I leave, and she's not very good.
