firebird121 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Hi,I want to format my C drive where uTorrent program is installed and install windows 7. I have all the files I downloaded with uTorrent and their torrents on a seperate hard disk. I want to install uTorrent again and I want uTorrent to recognize all my completed torrent files so that I can seed all the files that I downloaded. How can I do this?Thank you
moogly Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Save the whole folder %appdata%\utorrent and your (in)complete torrents and copy it on your fresh OS.If the drive letter/path names are the same, uT will resume your torrent jobs.
firebird121 Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 Thank you. I found a folder in: C:\Users\Ys\AppData\Roaming\uTorrentWhen I format and install the new OS, where should I copy this folder? And what about preferances--> directories? Should I put the path of the torrents I downloaded in "Store .torrents in:" and in "Automatically load .torrents from:" ?
DreadWingKnight Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 And what about preferances--> directories? Should I put the path of the torrents I downloaded in "Store .torrents in:" and in "Automatically load .torrents from:" ?No, you should NEVER have those two settings be the same. That just breaks things horridly. You copy the folder to the same location on the new os.
dreamer75 Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I am trying to achieve the same thing but I have Windows XP Professional.Where would I find the data from the old computer so that I can ensure my newly formatted computer will have the same torrent settings as before--all of my downloaded/seeded/completed torrents, etc.Thanks.
