µTorrent 2.0.2 released

whenever i download anythng it stops after a minut and says access is denied.... what is this?

now updated to µTorrent 2.0.1 RC1 (build 18833) on win7 64-bit. Whenever I click "Random port" button under Connection, Listening port while a torrent is running, uTorrent Freezes & sometimes crashes.

In previous version, Under logger, it reported "Hang diagnostics information w/ Hang reported successfully... statements". I also tried build build 18833 on a win 2008 64-bit machine & it also happens..

I can't reproduce that on Windows 7. Do you have the dumps of the crashes?

It happened as soon as I hit "Random port". Try downloading a couple of torrents for a while that has alot of client/seeds, then hit Random port, it should then freeze, possibly cleaning up the already connected ports??? I've tried it on separate systems and it still occurs. Strange, no one can reproduce it?

As you can see, I'm still having this bug with BEP22... It does not request PTR record and uses my NETBIOS name (Eliotbook) in SRV request instead...

Client was started with only one trackerless Torrent active...

What do you get when you run "nslookup" on your public IP? Are there any other peers on the local network or the same machine? Getting the NETBIOS name implies either uTorrent is not aware of the public IP (and is aware of a LAN IP), or reverse DNS for your public IP is somehow mis-configured (possibly on a local DNS server).

Problem with Bandwidth.

My real Upload Rate is about 110 kB/s

But µTorrent show 70-80 kB/s

in network statistic of my network adapter, i seen too many UDP connections. This connections was created by µTorrent program. But in Advanced options parameter "bt.transp_disposition" have a value "5"? which should block any UDP activity isn't it?

I think, what UDP activity decrease my upload speed rate to 70-80kB/s

How can i block any using of UDP in µTorrent?

FYI.

My curiosity made me decide to try this RC version (build 18833) over the latest v2.0 this morning.

However, after a bit of time, this version is somehow eating all my memory (4GB), making my system impossible to work with.

Stopping uTorrent instantly dropped the memory usage to normal, around 1GB in use.

Never had any problems with any version in the past, that I'm aware of.

So, back to v2.0 again and it seems to be doing fine.

OS: Windows 7 x64

Check both "Disable Windows' disk caching" options.

Then try again and don't blame us for windows' stupidity

This version is considered to become the final release in a few days, barring any problems.

Where the current stable version works fine, this one doesn't, unless I change all sorts of settings.

I would say it's a show stopper, without blaming us.

If Windows' disk caching it is such a problem, why not disable it by default if it sorts the problem?

I think the "duplicate IPv6 peer connection" is still there. I see double connections, one of IPv6 and one regular, with exactly the same % downloaded.

SkyHi: that change was reverted due to various bugs in the code. It'll be re-added in 2.0.2.

newuzer: we disable it for writes, but for the vast majority of users, it's not necessary to disable it for reads. And in general, disabling the system caching is not the preferred solution, for various reasons.

Could you do this again, and when it does hang, open the Task Manager, go to Processes, right click on utorrent.exe and hit 'Create Dump File'. Compress that with WinRAR, upload it to www.mediafire.com, then email the link to me. firon at utorrent.com
