debigG Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I had to force shutdown my computer as it wasn't responding while uTorrent was open. When I turned it back on, I left the room and forgot about the error checking. When I came back, I saw it was checking for errors and i cursed the stupid computer. Anyway when it was done, it truncated by resume.dat file, so now my utorrent is completely empty. 0 torrents seeding or downloading. resume.dat.old is also not in the utorrent folder. What can I do? is there any way to get the resume.dat.old back? or some other fix to get my torrents back? I had over 200 seeding... so it would really be a pain to add them all. (i probably couldnt be bothered and would just leave, but i would really like to have everything back in there)thank you
Ultima Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 No resume.dat.*.bad files in %appdata%\uTorrent?
debigG Posted April 18, 2010 Author Report Posted April 18, 2010 C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\uTorrentin here I only have dht.dat, dht.dat.oldrss.dat, rss.dat.oldsettings.dat, settings.dat.oldand resume.dat which is now only 56 bytes as it is completely empty. No old resume.datIs there a place I can get the truncated files back from CHKDSK? does it make like a backup file?
Ultima Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Oh, er, right, if it were truncated by CHKDSK, then µTorrent wouldn't have stored the bad file as *.bad...You might find some results on Google. According to this page, truncated files might be stored in the drive root. Or something.
