why_closedsource-µTP‽
Hello, just new to this forum.I'am using a little media pc with onboard atomcpu+gpu connected to my tv in living room. µtorrent running on it 24/7 The whole thing is nearly noiseless silent. Only Problem for my ears is the hdd. Bought a _WDC_WD10EADS western digital green with 5400rpm. looked like best noise dB in cataloge.well, the running sound and vibration even in idle mode are not acceptable for me. i still always here it anyway :s i don't want this if the hdd isn't actually used for seeding, leeching, accessed over lan, recording tv, playing back from drive. If i watch live and my torrents are done have no leeching peers why this should continue running? I am planning to buy another drive. A SSD for the os and putting all files that are open on it like windows, programms, pagefilebecause ssd= soundless, heatless, vibrateless & fast as hellthan the other big hdd should only be accessed for things i wrote above. but… doesn't my µtorrent lock or make a open entry on those files from the active torrents even there are no connected peers/transfers at the moment ?please let me know if you have any info about this or running something similar which works share your experience with meThings I have done so far:-setting windows energy settings for hdd standby on idle after 15minutes-setting aam to lowest possible with CrystalDiskInfo (made huge diffrence while launching & copying something random access)-installing latest ahci sata drivers-enabling ahci sata mode inside bios-turning of pagefile for target drive (windows seems to never use hdd idle if there is a pagefile.sys on it)never seen(heard) the hdd in idle mode yet and i got this sys since about a year
