Seeding/Connection Issues

I have a few possibly related problems.

About 30-45 minutes after opening uTorrent, my connection (which was green) switches to yellow and will not switch back. This issue popped up with the recent version updates the past week or two.

Also, I will usually seed a few torrents right when opening uTorrent, but then none seed for the remainder until my connection switches to yellow. This can't be just a coincidence.

I just ran my SpeedTest and I got 31Mb/s down and 3.66 Mb/s up. This is comparable/better than a friend of mine's connection (he uses uTorrent for Windows and the same tracker I do, What.CD) and he is constantly seeding at around 200 Kb/s yet I rarely ever seed and when I do, it is usually between 5 and 50 kb/s. What gives?
