ericc2728 Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 I have norton internet security with firewall. According to everything that I'm reading, all incoming connections should be disabled including the program rules in the firewall. So I block incoming connections with Utorrent, get the error saying that there is a firewall. The problem is when I do this, the downloading slows way way way down. Does anyone using Btguard have to just pay the price of very slow download speeds to surf anonymously?Oh and the port on my router is open that utorrent points to. I'm thinking this is ok, if someone can verify this. Thanks!
GTHK Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Btguard probably reduces speed. Consult my signature in regards to Norton.
bkohlerme Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I am new but have looked at the documentation, FAQ, etc. What are typical download speeds (or a range) with and without BTGuard or some other proxy server? Thanks!
isepiq Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I am on a local cable serivice & have seen no significant difference in upload/download speed using BTGuard Proxy service. It takes a little longer to make connections & it is slower, but not enough to really pay any attention to unless you were using a proxy to play an online game, but I can't see why anyone would do that. Anyway, popular files with lots of sharing is still fast.
