tneb711
Hi, I'm new to utorrent. I installed it today, got the NAT error message in the status bar, went ahead with the instructions on port forwarding, and port forwarded my Linskys wrt54g router. Ok, now the NAT error message went away, but according to what I've read, I should have a green Network OK message displayed in the status bar of the utorrent client. I'm not getting that or the "NAT error" message either. All I see is DHT, D: and U: displayed on the status bar. Does this mean my connection is the way it should be? I'm confused. I'm using utorrent vs 1.4.
Ultima
Are you downloading anything with µTorrent?
Firon
Use the Speed Guide's port checker. If it says the port is closed, then it's closed. Your forward was either badly done, or your firewall is blocking incoming connections.
tneb711
Not at the moment. But I downloaded a small 5 MB file to test the utorrent client, but I did not get the "Network OK" message in the status bar while the file was downloading. Firon
Which means, like I said before, that either your forward was not done correctly, or your firewall is blocking incoming connections. And please refrain from double posting, use the edit button. tneb711
Ok, I got it to work now, with "Network Ok" displayed. It had to do with setting up a different static IP address per different computer. Got it. Thanks.
Firon
Do you still have speed issues after getting Network OK? Have you used the Speed Guide and chosen your upload speed?

Firon
That happens if you're running no torrents, or torrents with small swarms, and haven't received an incoming connection yet.

PD
Tried all the above, but I still get a NAT error. No matter what setting I try, Speedquide tells me that the port is not open I have a Linksy WR54G router (v5) and a Linksys ADSL2 modem. uTorrent has been allowed access on the windows firewall, so I think everything is okay, but still the NAT error. Firon
Make sure you forwarded the port to the correct local IP.
