Hey guys!

First and foremost I'd like to thank all members of uTorrent forums. I could barely get a clue about torrenting without this great knowledge base!

I pay for 256kb/s.(ADSL) Few days ago everything was great my internet dl speed was like 29-30kb/s and torrent 20-30/s. However, today I saw 3kb/s and not stable anymore,which made really sad...

Setting net.max_halfopen higher than the default of 8 doesn't make sense on a line that slow.

You're burning up what little upload you have just trying to make MORE outgoing connections.

Even 100 global connections is overkill. Just sustaining 100 connected-but-idle peers/seeds costs bandwidth...that could be better spent downloading from ~10 out of 30.

Your upload according to those speed tests was 0.05 megabit/sec -- or about 50 kilobit/sec -- or about 6 KiloBYTES/second max.

Disable DHT (both kinds), Local Peer Discovery, Bandwidth Management (that's uTP), and Resolve IPs. All these costs more speed than you'll get back from other peers/seeds, unless the torrents you're on are totally dead...in which case you might want to re-enabled DHT and/or Bandwidth Management.

Wasn't any need to "unpatch" windows...just changing net.max_halfopen back to 8 would do for that.
