plehmann
ok I've done my nut trying to figure this out.hopefully following this will help.. how to ask questions http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.htmla good read for those that have not come across this resource before.I've traditionally run Beta/alpha version of utorrent with few if any bugs that have affected my running environment. In this instance the running environment is:H/W Asus p5w-dh deluxe 3 GHz C2D(latest bios build), 2 gig ram, 8600GT gigabyte passive G/card with only the standard windows drivers installed( no nvidia stuff as its only used occasionally, ie headless system)hooked up to this are 4 1TB WD caviar black drives, PATA DVD , 1 500GB Seagate 7200.10 PATA Whats running Standard WHS power pack 3 with all updates installed. The Asus drivers seem to be quite picky so following their forum rules for installing the correct driver revisions in the correct order results in a fairly healthy event log .Alongside the Utorrent install running are WHSCLAM AV, PS3 Media Server (DLNA server) and of course Peer block ver 1.0 stable and redec syslog Network setup is standard dsl 6 meg down 950Kb up Linksys AG310 with voip running. all running over gig Ethernet UTP. via a netgear gigE switchThe firewall is off on this box as a PFsense platform is acting as firewall and traffic logger.Router--100meg--Pfsense----gig E----------netgear----gigE---WHSutorrent serverI've reinstalled WHS recently and ensured that this is as minimal an install as possible. When I re installed I took a copy of /appdata/utorrent to backup the settings.dat etc and a copy of the current !ut folder.I installed 2.01 into the standard directory structure... downloaded a torrent to propagate the app data folder, then shut utorrent down copied over the appdata utorrent folder and !ut folder and restarted utorrent . all old partial and completed torrents seem to check out fine.Everything seems stable on 2.01 however...... the torrents will not comply with the scheduling rules that I setup.*Full download 2 am untill 8.00 am no download outside of these times. ie full block of dark green squares for the download time.Heres where I think the problems are.....The torrents were initially downloaded into a earlier version of 2.1alpha/beta which was stable at the time on the previous install of the Windows home server platform. Due to the updates to the latest versions of utorrent(2.1), utorrent has become quite unstable, in that during the download time (2-8 am) it will crash with a dialogue that asks whether to upload the log file (which of course I do ) it does this consistently every night.So... due to the crashing I've reverted to the stable release of 2.01 but now the Scheduling/queue mechanisms no longer function.aka.... 2.01 is stable but does not obey scheduling and will start downloading immediately.2.1 latest build still is not stable on my WHS system but does obey the scheduling rules I've set for it.Going through the forum posts so far I've done all the usual things with ensuring that the torrents are not forced etc. I've also tried the scheduling with new torrent added to the 2.01 build but still no compliance with the scheduling (utorrent is setup with the recommended dl and upload settings as per the setup checker that run on initial install.I'm thinking this is something funny in the settings.dat file etc that is incompatible with the earlier build of utorrent( ie torrents initially d/l using 2.1 then ported to 2.01 ) however, downloading new torrents exhibits the same problems!?! is this problem still being carried over to the earlier torrent build and newly downloaded torrents.Hijack this log follows: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.3 (BETA)Scan saved at 10:11:09 a.m., on 29/04/2010Platform: Windows 2003 SP2 (WinNT 5.02.3790)MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exeC:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exeC:\Program Files\Redec Syslog\Redec.Syslog.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\vds.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\WHSClamAVScanService.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\WHSClamAVUpdateService.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchIndexer.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\qsm.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\whsarch.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\whsbackup.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\TransportService.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\cqvSvc.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\pdl.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\dmadmin.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\demigrator.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\rdpclip.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\PeerBlock\peerblock.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Desktop Search\WindowsSearch.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchProtocolHost.exeC:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exeC:\Program Files\hijack this\TrendMicro\HiJackThis\HiJackThis.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeR1 -
