shwick Posted April 29, 2010 Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 I have the Maximum Upload Rate under the Bandwidth options set to 10kb/s, but I see torrents sometimes uploading at 25-30kb/s.Why is uTorrent not abiding by it's Maximum Upload Rate and letting torrents upload more than 10kb/s?I play games and they start to lag when uTorrent uploads more than 10kb/s, it's really annoying.I'm using uTorrent 2.0.1 (build 19248).edit: maybe should have posted this in speed problems Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Switeck Posted April 29, 2010 Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 Are you uploading to local peers, which override max upload speed limit by default?(You can change that in Preferences, BitTorrent by checking "Limit local peer bandwidth".)Is it just the overheads that's causing uTorrent to exceed the upload limit? shwick Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 I wasn't uploading to local peers but I just checked that now, limit local peer bandwidth.I read another post like this and supposedly connection overhead was taken into account when limiting upload bandwidth.I'll keep watching the torrent and see if it happens again.
