Fatboy71 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Sometimes when I am downloading, the download starts off OK, i.e. the green downward arrow appears. Now sometimes so far through I get the message shown in the general section that connection has been closed by peer and the downward arrow changes to red.But the strange thing is, the download still continues and through until the download has been completely finished with no problems.I just wondered what could be the cause of it, or is it just a bug with utorrent, due to the download continuing after the red arrow appears and then on until its completion.I am using Utorrent V1.8.5. Build 17414.Thanks in advance
moogly Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Upgrade to 2.0.1, no support here for old versions.
Fatboy71 Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 I would do, but the place I download my torrents from does not allow the use of 2.0.1 due to it giving false reading in seeding time.
DreadWingKnight Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 And where is the proof they have of it doing so?
Fatboy71 Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 I am just repeating the reason they mention in their forum, for them not allowing it, they also go on to mention that many other sites have banned it too because of the reason I mentioned earlier. So they must obviously have some grounds/proof of it giving false readings in seeding time, has there is nothing to be gained for them not allowing 2.0.1 has its a paid for site.

Fatboy71 Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 Like I mentioned earlier. Its a site where to get the most from it you need to pay to avoid the need to seed for 48 hours. So has the majority of the members pay a membership fee to avoid the 48 hour seed. There would be nothing for the site to gain from banning the use of 2.0.1, has they would be potentially turning paying customers away customers.I have a friend who pays the membership, and he cannot use 2.0.1. It shows on the comment for the torrent that you cannot use that particular version of U torrent.
