ratonjd
Hello, since I installed the latest version of Utorrent all the problems started: First of all, my computer is running super slow, I can't even browse any webpage because is terribly slow! also most of the time the Utorrent crashes and I'm not able to kill the process at the taskbar, I have to re-start my computer all the time, because I keep getting an error message saying that utorrent still running in the background.Soo many problems after I got this new version. Before, with version 1.81 everything was working perfectly, how can I downgrade? I would like to downgrade without losing all the torrents I have running at the moment. Is this possible? How can I do it?Thanks a lot!

ratonjd
I just have the Windows firewall. The problem with this new version is that is impossible to kill the utorrent.exe process. I closed utorrent by right click " exit" and the utorrent icon dissapears from the taskbar but the process still there for some reason, nothing appears to close this process.. take a look at the screenshot. In order to get back to normal I have to restart my computer... Firon
Is your CPU usage high when the computer lags?
ratonjd
Not really, for some reason I was trying to see the CPU load and to my surprise I was able to kill the utorrent process from the taskbar, how do you think this is possible? i haven't changed anything.. jEaseUs_
Is it slow because the harddisk is being used a lot ie. by window due to file caching perhaps? or somethingCan you look in taskmanager and see how much Memory (the part with the vertical graphic bar is) is used ie. 3.36GB (on my PC) and how much Total Memory do you have?If the CPU usage were high, I would sugges this thread: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=483374but since you say it isn't, then I was wondering maybe it's the windows eating up all RAM due to file caching issue, however it can be neither If it's the windows eating RAM issue and slowing down the computer due to heavy HDD usage, then check this thread perhaps? http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=72080
boobalooba
I came here because I'm having the same issues. I haven't changed a thing on my pc except the update to utorrent. My torrents usually come down in half an hour (just tv shows) and sometimes even in 20 minutes.Right now I have one sitting with 97 seeds and only 3 peers, 65.5% down and it says I still have 2 hours and twenty minutes to go. This is from somewhere I use regular and it's always fast. It's been happening for a few days since I updated. It's also affecting my mozilla making it slow to load. I have avast AV and comodo firewall, on windows xp.I know my problems are the update. I restart my pc, I close and reopen utorrent, tried everything and still this issue. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version which was really good for me?Now it has changed to I still have 4 hours 55 minutes left, it's getting really frustrating
DreadWingKnight
You can start by reading what the thread is about and realising that you are thread hijacking and not actually posting on an appropriate thread boobalooba.Second, downgrading is not supported and is NOT troubleshooting. boobalooba
I did read the thread and it is the same issue I am suffering from. Do you prefer to have multiple posts on the same issue here? If you like I can cut and paste my post into a new thread and then the same question can be answered twice. If utorrent isn't working properly after the upgrade, then surely it makes sense to roll back until a fix is found. I've been using it for years and this is the first time this has happened, oh and just for information, I now have to wait two days for my torrentLet me know if you'd like me to start a new thread about this issue. None of the solutions in this thread have any beaing for me, I've tired everything
DreadWingKnight
No, your issue is NOT the same as the one going on in this thread.Your issue is slow downloads. The thread's issue is a slow computer.Closing due to hijack.
