shof Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 For the past month and including last night, utorrent has been working perfectly for me. Just recently i updated to utorrent 2.02 build 16948 via automatic updates. Was working fine last night with no errors, then this morning i turn on my computer and open up utorrent to countine downloading some stuff and now i get this error:An Attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissionUrm, whats wrong since everything was working fine last night and my pc was off so how did some settings change in 8 hours by itself? I have tried running utorrent as admin and my OS is Windows 7 64 bit
DreadWingKnight Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 What internet security software do you have installed?
shof Posted May 19, 2010 Author Report Posted May 19, 2010 None, just the default windows firewall and utorrent is added to the windows firewall exception list (thats what the preferences say as well as when i look at the firewall settings in control panel)
FinMcCooler Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 I'm getting this message along with ''connection closed by peer''. Would appreciate any help.
po'kchopsamiches Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I've been using uTorrent for more than 2 years now and this is a new occurrence for me as well.In my case however it appears to be because I've added a few new lists to peerblock, so it's not really a problem I can't fix. I added these new lists because I noticed a throttling attempt on some of my activities. Looks like it's time to set up proxy. Something I should have done a long time ago.Big Brother is watching.
