ev0|
In Foobar 2000 0.9 RC, there are now shortcuts from the file menu to the %Appdata%\(program name) and Program Files Directory locations for easy access. I would like µtorrent to have the same thing, since torrents are stored there and sometimes require cleaning, and also icon packs are stored in both locations, having an easier access to them directly from µtorrent would be nice.Second request (very minor) : The about window should show the build time (date/time) because some builds (430 etc.) have multiple versions. hofshi
I wouldn't use it, but I think these are good ideas.+
oliversl
What is Foobar 2000 ?
1c3d0g
A Winamp rip-off. :/
Firon
Not a rip off in the slightest. Winamp is laughable compared to it. If anything, it's the antithesis of Winamp (DEATH made almost every single Winamp plugin, and he hates Winamp because it's so poorly made, which is why he made foobar2000)It's the best audio player ever. Ultima
DEATH? I see people refer to him as Peter O.OAnd yeah, he wrote a lot of the core Winamp plugins, so I wouldn't really call it a rip-off... In what way is it a ripoff anyway? Nefarious
best in quality perhaps (still i like xmplayer best por quality), but not in usability, and is plain ugly winamp used to be good up to v2.91back to topic, it would be useful, however there would be lots of people asking why everything went to hell when deleting the files there etc.
Ultima
Ugly? Then µTorrent must be considered ugly by your standards, since foobar2000 uses native Windows widgets just like µTorrent ;PSkins make things ugly in my opinion, since the application ceases to integrate with the rest of the system's look and feel.As for quality, there are minor, if any, differences. Even the foobar2000 developer knows and says this. Mostly a placebo effect, or settings differences that have people say one sounds better than the other. Nefarious
so, shouldnt this thread be in off-topic forum?
Ultima
Eh sorry for going off topic xDSince µTorrent already creates several shortcuts, I guess it wouldn't hurt for it to add a shortcut to this folder so people can stop asking what %appdata% is (even though it's in the FAQ) ;PThe second request... I'm not sure if that's necessary, since it's a rare occurrence anyhow. Don't know for sure, though, so whatever.
Firon
It's very usable actually, it just lets you customize the hell out of it And if you find it ugly, you can make it non-ugly XD
chaosblade
I think i should make sure 1c3d0g and Peter meet after The latter knows what he considers fb2k to be ;pFoobar is awesome. On topic - Sure, why not. Its not like the file menu is the most visible and used part of uTorrent, so adding more options to it wont hurt. I also agree on the second request, consistency is important. ev0|
This is how it is implemented in foobar : Direct Link : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v207/ev0l/foobarexample.pngFoobar 0.9 is a significant improvement in ease of use. There's no need to say "%AppData%" as you can see.It could easily be made a toggle-able preference for more advanced users, so as not to confuse basic users, but it really is a huge timesaver. ul
You could make a shortcut to %appdata%\utorrent\, assign a hotkey to it (such as CTRL-ALT-A), and that'd be even faster.
Ultima
lol I doubt people would need to access the folder often enough to warrant a hotkey... O.o
r00ted
yea, i dont see how a hotkey would be necessary. getting a shortcut though through the app/menu would be good though.+1+
avatarl
+1 to that, a shortcut in ìTorrent would be nice
splintax
Well, I definitely don't think it should be a toolbar button or anything.Either the way foobar does it or a keyboard shortcut would be best.As for fb2k, I was a die-hard Winamp fan until it was bought out by AOL. I use foobar now, and I like it better anyway. Much lighter, I don't need most of the crap in Winamp.
1c3d0g
I guess this shouldn't be too hard to implement, or consume any resources, and it would be pretty convenient for a lot of people. +1.
Ultima
Yah, and we'd stop getting questions asking about where .torrent files and settings files are located... and what %appdata% is =]
Firon
no we wouldn't, I'm sure of it
