uTorrent slowed down suddenly. Help!

Hey guys, first post here.

Ive been a utorrent user for years. Ive never had a serious problem until now.

All of the sudden, newer versions of utorrent didnt work well with my router, i.e, everytime i used a utorrent version above 1.8, it screws up and disconnects and resets my router.

So my only choice was to go back to utorrent 1.7.7

Didnt bother me, downloads were fine, went pretty fast (average movie download was 300-500kb/s)

Eventually, those speeds slowed down to less than 100, no matter the amount of seeders/peers. Ive tried downloading old torrents, new torrents, torrents with highest seeders and lowest leechers, etc etc etc, NOTHING worked.

Ive tried limiting uploads, leaving them unlimited, etc, still no download speed change.

Ive also been running under port 45682 (forwarded) all the time.

Right now im downloading:

The Book of Eli 720p BluRay --- 42 (1940) seeders 56 (6434) peers

Average speed 40kb/s

(Note: fastest i saw the speed at was 60kb/s)

Keep in mind, no configuration settings were changed between the speed transition.

I tried installing different versions, still, the speeds remain slow.

Im out of options guys. What should i do. Ive tried evrything! please help!!

So did you try turning off uTP (by disabling bandwidth management in preferences - bittorrent) yet?

Do the speed problems persist when downloading openoffice torrents?
