frozilla Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I DO NOT want to use tor as a proxy for my data, but here is my situation. The router my computer is connected to is set up to block my internal ip address from accessing the internet. however, if i start up tor, i can connect to the internet through that.So i assume the router is only blocking port 80. But now, utorrent isnt downloading. I am wondering, since i am obviously connected to the internet, if i can announce my ip for utorrent through tor, and have all the data for whatever i am downloading come through utorrent's open ports, which i assume will still work. In short, the only way i can access the internet right now is through tor, is there a way for utorrent to use tor just to get seeders ips and then connect to them NOT THROUGH TOR. Just wanted to emphasize, not using tor for all the large bandwidth here, as everyone else seems to be asking for. Thanks!EDIT: well, seems like logic has finally resumed, somehow while i was away from the computer, utorrent came back to life. I guess it just takes awhile.
