o12no1 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Okay what I am finding is that when I load a torrent my download speed is in the 700kb/s range but after a couple of minutes it slows to 0.1kb/s the same applies to when a torrent is seeding, not those speeds obviously usually about 28kb/s. This is the same for all torrents from any site. I have to constantly click the little panel then click the run tests to keep getting another connection. The bandwidth section is set at UK London and always fails with the message - Connection failed error: A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied. (10057) I can get a green tick for this area if I switch to France or Germany but again this lasts only a couple of minute as it switches back to the UK.The network always tells me that the port is open and configured correctly. Here are some of the messages from the logger - [2010-05-24 09:15:58] Connecting ...[2010-05-24 09:15:58] Connection failed error: A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied. o12no1 Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Plenty reads but no answers Pretty sure my router is set right as a mate who is a pc engineer set it up and I set up uTorrent as per the guide.
o12no1 Posted June 2, 2010 Author Report Posted June 2, 2010 Isn't it always the simple things Okay no matter what I done nothing would correct my problems so I removed my new router and installed my old Draytek Vigor 2800 and guess what, the problems were still there even though the settings were as when it worked perfectly. As I understand this router a lot better than the new one I set to checking everything but to no avail no matter what I done, still the same problems. Now we come to "Isn't it always the simple things "I always used to use PeerGuardian when surfing, uploading and downloading but a few weeks ago I switched to PeerBlock, it was the only thing I hadn't checked because all the messages kept saying a port was blocked so my first thought was the new router and from there my brain went into meltdown.Yep it was PeerBlock that was causing the problems, all I had to do was right click the link it was blocking and allow permanently. If there is any change when I again install the new router I will let all know.
madking Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I'm having similar problems. I run Windows XP Professional SP3 and I'm using uTorrent v2.0.2. When I first start uTorrent everything is fine and I get good connections and download/upload speed but after about 5 minutes the downloads and uploads goes down to zero, although the seeds/peers are still there. The only workaround I've found is to exit and restart uTorrent. Then I get back the connections and download/upload speed - for another 5 minutes or so, then they're dropped again. So I exit and restart uTorent and so on, ad infintum. Please help.
