vmre Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 My old computer gave out on me & I just got a new one. However, I kept my DL on an external drive. Now when I run uTorrent it no longer recognizes all the DL so I can no longer seed those movies. Is there a way I can get uToprrent to add back those DL so that I can continue to seed to several private sites I belong to? I have over 50 DL that I keep seedingI hope I explained my problem well enough to get an answer
moogly Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Is it possible for you to make a copy of the folder %appdata%\utorrent on your old computer or it's definitely out of order? This folder contains your history, settings and .torrent files.
vmre Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 do u have any idea where I might find it? My old C; drive is my secondary drive on here. So I should have that folder on either the old C: drive or on my external.
moogly Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Windows+R > %appdata%\utorrent and you're done!
vmre Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 I'm not sure what you mean. I'm on Windows 7 & before that XP. I'm still trying to figure out how to do searches..
moogly Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Press Windows then R on your keyboard, then %appdata%\utorrent Or type %appdata%\utorrent into the Windows Explorer bar
vmre Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 This is all nnew to me but I think I found it:F:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\uTorrentWhat do I do now?
moogly Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I guess the drive F is the old drive C.If your new primary drive is C (as previously), you can copy the folder %appdata%\utorrent from F to C (and erase the new folder %appdata%\utorrent you created when you reinstall µT).When you will reboot µT, it shoud resume your torrent jobs if the paths of the files are the same.
vmre Posted May 25, 2010 Author Report Posted May 25, 2010 THanks loads. I'll give it a try & let you know how it goes. I appreciate your help
